Adequate supplements could cost you less than a cup of coffee a day. You can't afford to live your life without this knowledge.
You could waste a lot of money paying the wrong price for the wrong vitamins and other supplements. Here at the Natural Medicine Research Centre in Sydney we research the research and recommend in this booklet an effective low-cost protocol for disease prevention and slower aging. Buy this $3.95 e-booklet and it will pay for itself a thousandfold even just in medical fees you could save. It will be sent to you by email in MS Word(R) format which can also be read in MS Word Pad(R) which is included free with MS Windows(R) and it comprises 18 x A4 pages of close typed text. Below are some extracts from the e-booklet entitled:
SUPPLEMENTATION AND DISEASE PREVENTION
All the information presented is based on solid scientific research and, in most cases, the processes by which these nutrients work within the human body are well understood by microbiologists and other scientists. There are literally thousands of studies being published every year and the information which is now available is quite staggering. The only problem is that it is not yet being applied widely enough and most medical practitioners are still tending to trust drug companies and the products they produce often with far less testing.
Should we be deterred from using supplements just because most doctors don’t yet prescribe them? Perhaps the question we should be asking is why don’t they? ... We have the right to protect our own bodies using whatever knowledge is available to us. But we need to know what’s fact and what’s not.
Pollution in our air, our water supply and even our food also exposes us to various chemicals and toxins riddled with free radicals. Free radicals can also come from ultraviolet sunlight (hence sunburn) and various medications and medical procedures, especially radiation therapy. But unfortunately these free radicals are somewhat destructive and excesses can lead to degenerative diseases, damage to your eyes, your heart, your brain or your joints.
Isn’t it good enough to eat a healthy diet? “Surely,” you say, “that will give me all the vitamins and nutrients I need.” Certainly it is just about possible to get the Recommended Dietary Allowances (R.D.A.) of most vitamins and minerals from a healthy diet.
BUT … the levels that have been used in successful scientific research are many times higher and usually far beyond what your diet could supply.
Firstly, vitamin E can help your immune system and fight infection. Secondly, vitamin E supplementation of at least 200 international units (IU) per day has been shown to greatly reduce the risk of heart disease. This is because it helps to prevent the oxidation of cholesterol. The implication of these studies is that those with high cholesterol should certainly take vitamin E supplementation because the food they eat probably only provides about 30 IU a day which is nowhere near enough. BUT … it’s important for you to know that vitamin E comes in various forms all given Greek letters, namely alpha, beta, delta, epsilon, eta, gamma and zeta. Most supplements contain only the alpha form but it has been found that it is essential to balance this with other forms, especially gamma. The supplements I shall recommend at the end contain an appropriate balance.
But it’s all good news and even better when selenium is supplemented. This combination is beneficial in helping to prevent various forms of cancer in addition to stroke and heart disease. It will help with arthritis, diabetes, cataracts, fertility, thrombosis, wounds and bruises to name but a few of the many disorders shown to benefit from vitamin E. No matter where you live you will almost certainly not get enough selenium from your food. You will need to take supplements of at least 300 mcg a day. But don’t take more than 800 mcg a day! BUT .. Can you buy these amounts over the counter?
If there is one nutrient for which your intake is likely to be well below the RDA it is probably chromium. The food supply is sadly depleted in this mineral which has an important role helping insulin to perform its task. Your risk of diabetes is higher if you don’t have enough chromium and we have only to look at the increase in this disease in recent years to see the connection. Other studies have shown that chromium also helps to retard the aging process. Animals have lived 40% longer or more when given chromium picolinate. However, this form is not the best for human consumption: instead you should use chromium polynicotinate. Once again, however, you’ll need to get this from the suppliers I shall recommend in the United States.
It warrants a word at this point about the impact of production costs on the quality of the food we buy. An obvious example is the fact that “ordinary” fruit and vegetables cost significantly less than organic supplies. Fertilisers and pesticides pay for themselves by increasing production, and preservatives prolong shelf life, thus saving waste. But these chemicals increase oxidative stress especially nitric oxide which is converted to peroxynitrile, one of the most potent free radicals known to exist. Apart from the chemicals added, the vitamins and minerals are depleted. Soil should be rested every few years to regain its mineral supply. Without key minerals (which act as catalysts) your vitamins are next to useless. Food processing in all its forms not only adds chemicals and removes nutrients – it also converts some nutrients into completely different (and often dangerous) forms. All the above, and probably much more, stem from the profit motives of producers who are driven by the mighty dollar rather than any thoughts of your health.
Fast food companies know that fat tastes good – fat sells. But what also sell are books on various diets. The debate rages on – should we have high protein diets with low carbohydrate, or vice versa? People .. do not understand the risks to their health that can come from a diet which is high in animal protein. Protein tends to take away the hunger pangs because it outlasts carbohydrate.
But animal protein in particular has a relatively high proportion of methionine which is converted to a very dangerous substance called homocysteine – and the bad news is that most people have too much of it.. The information is there to be read, but most medical practitioners are not acting on it. Have you had your homocysteine level measured? The normal range is from 5 to 15 mmol/litre. So you might think that somewhere around 10mmol/litre would be all right. However studies in the late 1990’s indicated that the risk of heart disease increases for levels above 6.3 mmol/litre and in the August 22, 2003 issue of the journal Circulation Research a study was published showing that levels of homocysteine of 10 mmol/litre can inflict massive damage to the arterial wall. Homocysteine is a killer! Studies show that you need to keep it below 7 to 8 mmol/litre to reduce the risk of lethal diseases. It can cause arthritis and birth defects and it can have toxic effects on the brain, increasing the risk of depression, memory loss and Alzheimer’s disease. The good news is that homocysteine levels can be reduced with certain supplements.
What price would you place on your life? If someone offered you immunization against cancer or heart disease what would you be prepared to pay – thousands of dollars perhaps? Well, supplementation is very similar to vaccination – it helps to prevent disease and you have to pay for it. But you pay for it in small instalments over a lifetime, just as you pay for your food. In fact, you may well think of it as part of your food bill which need not increase overall. You will be cutting back on expensive meat, reducing chocolate, cake and coffee intake, possibly making yourself a healthy salad and salmon sandwich rather than buying lunch and almost certainly saving on medical costs in the long run. The good news is that the package we recommend will cost less per day than the cost of a cup of coffee in a cafe. Indications are that aging could be slowed by as much 30%. This is exciting and cutting-edge research just published recently.
If you are healthy, don’t take chances. Protection is available at a nominal cost and is highly likely to bring about significant improvement in your quality of life and the years you spend on this planet which mankind has all but destroyed.
